Welcome You have found the Cook Group home page in the Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology at North Dakota State University. Our research is focused in two areas: Developing new synthetic methodology utilizing allyl organometallics, and the applied synthesis of molecules which have important biological function. For example, we are utilizing a Pd-catalyzed equilibration reaction developed in our laboratory for the synthesis of small molecule inhibitors for matrix metalloproteinases. These enzymes are involved in many disease processes including cancer, multiple sclerosis, and arthritis. We are also targeting Lupus and Cancer via inhibition of histone deacetylase enzymes. Please explore our site to find out more about who we are and what we do. Thanks for stopping by.
